VOLUNTEER AT CSU
Welcome to our Volunteer Program!
Our volunteers are a vibrant group of individuals committed to helping provide therapeutic riding services to children and adults with special needs in our therapeutic programs as well as our outreach groups.
To quote Erma Bombeck, “Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s compassion,
unselfish caring, patience, and just plain loving one another”. We see this everyday with our volunteers!
Our volunteers work with our PATH Intl. certified instructors and licensed Physical and Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists, helping our riders reach their individual goals, as well as caring for our horses.
Our volunteers are a critical part in meeting the goals and needs of our riders and horses, and we could not do it without them!
We always need and welcome new volunteers. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Once completing the orientation and training, you can then sign up and start volunteering. Our volunteers typically sign up for a one to two hour session, but can do more if desired. The sessions involve preparing the horses for their riders as well as walking beside or leading the horses in a therapy session or riding class.
Experience is not necessary. The training is provided and once you begin volunteering, the trainer will teach you more.
Additional training is always available.
Volunteering is coordinated and run through the Temple Grandin Equine Center
